"As a university professor, I LIVE UNITED by helping students earn their college education and advanced degrees so that they can be successful in their careers and family lives. I work to help them understand the importance of giving back to those who are less fortunate. Having served on Mesa United Way's Community Allocation Committee, I learned first hand the importance of awareness and empathy to better serve as your Mesa United Way Board Chair. My name is Tom and I LIVE UNITED."
The volunteer Board of Directors provides leadership and sets policy for Mesa United Way. Board members act as stewards for the monies raised in our community, understand United Way's legal responsibilities, review existing policies and formulate new policies, review and approve the annual budget and audit, and review and approve community partner funding decisions.
Our Board of Directors represent every facet of community life. These hard-working people are invaluable to our community, both for their enthusiasm in raising money and their wisdom in assuring its distribution to those most in need.
