Description: Autumn House's vision is that all victims of domestic violence can find safety and shelter in their time of need. Autumn House provides crisis intervention, emergency shelter, advocacy and education to families who are experiencing the crisis of domestic violence. It is the goal of Autumn House to address the behaviors that perpetuate domestic violence while creating a safe place in which to empower individuals and families affected by abuse. Autumn House services are designed to provide for the physical and psychological safety of families victimized by domestic violence and also provides the basic necessities for those who are displaced or have fled their homes.

Description: It is the vision of East Valley Men's Center (EVMC) that homeless men have access to resources to help them get off the streets and back into the economic and social mainstream. EVMC's goal for each resident is permanent employment at a decent wage, safe and stable housing, and increased self-sufficiency skills.

Description: Homelessness in Maricopa County has doubled over the past ten years and there is a scarcity of affordable housing. It is the vision of La Mesita Family Homeless Shelter that no family is without safe shelter. The goal of La Mesita Family Homeless Shelter is to assist homeless families to become economically self-sufficient and to secure safe and stable housing.

Program: MesaCAN Client Services and Work Assistance
Description: The vision of MesaCAN's Client Services/Work Assistance program is that impoverished households in the city of Mesa have the resources they need to ensure their access to food, shelter, and safety. It is the goal of the program to assist impoverished Mesa households at risk of eviction or utilities shut-off.. MesaCAN Client Services / Work Assistance provides essential support to the most disadvantaged and vulnerable households in Mesa. Compared to the population countywide: Mesa has more households where both parents of small children are working, a higher percentage of households with income of less than $24,999 per year, a smaller percentage of workers employed in management and professional occupations, and a higher number of workers employed in jobs that require physical labor. (US Census, 2000).

Description: The mission of My Sisters' Place is "to assist victims of domestic violence to physically and emotionally heal and rebuild their lives free from abuse." The program's overarching goals are related to improving safety, emotional health and legal knowledge. Ultimately, the shelter's seamless continuum of services wraps victims of domestic violence and their children in comprehensive support that:
• addresses victims' immediate safety, and emotional and physical needs
• helps to resolve and alleviate issues related to the immediate crisis; and
• assists in exploring viable options to live free from abuse.

Program: Legal Advocacy for Low-Income Mesa Residents
Low-income residents of Mesa with civil legal problems impacting their basic survival needs will be protected against domestic violence, abuse and exploitation; loss of housing, equity, income, rental status; educational opportunities' health care and government benefits. The goal is to ensure equal access to the justice system by making attorneys available at no charge to those who cannot afford them, to resolve their critical legal problems and protect their basic survival rights.

Description: Homelessness continues to be a major problem in our Arizona communities. The mission of the Transitional Living Program (in which clients receive transitional housing and supportive services) is to provide direct and culturally competent support to help homeless families with children obtain self-sufficiency through its various nationally accredited and comprehensive services. The program's vision is to assure that every homeless family obtains and remains in permanent housing, obtains and retains employment with livable wages to afford childcare and healthcare, and acquires parenting and life skills to ultimately prevent future homelessness.
