Agency: Advocates for the Disabled

Program: Disability Claims Program

Description: The mission of the Disability Claims program is to assist disabled clients in securing Social Security Disability Income (SSDI) benefits and Supplemental Security Income (SSI) benefits, and to offer case management services to support their daily needs and quality of life during that process. The vision of the Disability Claims program is to offer disabled individuals and their families a picture of hope, positive engagement in the community, and a stable, decent quality of life. The goals of the Disability Claims program are to assist clients in obtaining ongoing income security through benefits claims, and to offer case management to assist those clients in achieving a full picture of services to help them achieve a better quality of life.

Agency: Arizona Center for the Blind and Visually Impaired

Program: Comprehensive Rehabilitation Systems

Description: The mission of Arizona Center for the Blind and Visually Impaired is to enhance the quality of life of people who are blind or otherwise visually impaired by providing a wide range of services aimed at:

• Promoting independence, dignity, and full participation in all spheres of life; at home, at work and in the community.
• Educating the general public regarding the capabilities and needs of individuals who are blind and visually impaired, while serving as a resource of information about all aspects of dealing with vision loss.
• Facilitating acceptance of individuals who are blind and visually impaired throughout society, while working toward equalization of opportunity.

Program: Center-Based Employment Services

Description: The purpose of Marc Center's Employment Related Services (ERS) is simple - get as many individuals employed with community employers as possible. They do this by assisting adults with disabilities in their development of employment skills through classroom skill building activities, real work from subcontractors in the community and through hand over hand teaching, when necessary. This intense employment training has an economic return to our community of $7.00 generated for every $1.00 paid in Marc Center wages to individuals in our Employment Related Services programs. Within two years of becoming employed with a community employer, the individual has paid back in economic return the cost of his/her program.

Program: Day Services (CDS)

Description: The mission of the Community Day Services program is to provide meaningful community activities for individuals who are not ready for the world of work or who have retired from that environment. Through skill building activities and recreational opportunities, individuals with severe and/or profound physical and mental challenges are able to participate in their community and be productive members of society.

Program: Home and Community Based Services

Description: Marc Center's Home and Community Based Services program offers in-home supports to assist children and adults with disabilities to achieve and/or maintain their desired level of independence in their home and community. Marc Center strives to enhance the lives of persons served and their families by providing opportunities to succeed and fail, to take risks and to grow and participate as contributing members of their community.

Program: Residential

Description: Marc Center's Community Living Services (CLS) program, in its mission, strives to achieve the highest levels of health and safety, community inclusion and supportive learning environments for the consumers young and old to assist them in achieving their goals and aspirations. The vision of CLS is to plan appropriately for future service acquisition and delivery by gaining knowledge and feedback from persons served, their families, funding source trends, community resources, and therapeutic models of service delivery across the nation. The ultimate goal of the program is for individuals to live in the most independent environment that their skills and knowledge will allow.
