WHO WE ARE

To fulfill our mission, Mesa United Way focuses on creating an environment of diversity, equity, and inclusion for all parties and opposes racial and ethnic discrimination. Mesa United Way acknowledges and appreciates differences that make us unique and values diversity in race, ethnicity, religion, gender, disability, nationality, socioeconomic class, age, sexual orientation, gender identity, veteran status, and viewpoints.

With over 100 years of history, Mesa United Way has focused on finding solutions for generational poverty and understanding the systemic inequities that have been upheld for centuries. Mesa United Way will continue advocating for all community members while looking internally to ensure that the voices of staff, volunteers, clients, and board members are heard and respected.

To ensure this work continues, Mesa United Way commits to creating and implementing a detailed action plan, assessed annually, focused on improving knowledge of the importance of fighting systemic discrimination, and includes objectives, actions, goals, timelines, and results. Mesa United Way shares this work internally and externally, stands in solidarity with others in the community who look to eradicate discrimination, and leads by example.
